We’re excited to celebrate the re-opening The Comedy Studio outside on JFK Street which will be closed off to all traffic from 2-6pm.
The afternoon will open with a welcome address by Denise Jillson from Harvard Square Business Association and John Bonham-Carter from The Comedy Studio at 2pm.
Two local comedians, will MC the afternoon and will introduce the main music act, The Theo Griffin Experience, a local band known for their funk, soul, blues and varied repertoire of compositions. They will start the party and get everyone dancing in the street.
At 3pm, some extra special guests will come to the stage to be interviewed by Nick Zaino, a Boston veteran comedy reporter. They are Gary Gulman (“Depresh”), Jenny Zigrino (“Comedy Central, HBO”) and Eugene Mirman (“Bob’s Burgers”).
Our MC’s will then host a X Factor style One Joke Only comedy competition on the stage with the audience getting to choose their favorite local comedian of the afternoon!
From 4pm, on the stage, we’ll continue with more family fun with jugglers, magicians, a contortionist and so much more!
Throughout the day, on the street, there will be vendor stalls, face painting, family fun, a beer garden, food trucks and many more activities!
