We are open 7 days a week, except for a few holidays (even we need a break from laughing). Doors open at 6pm most days, and sometimes earlier at weekends.
Not yet 42 years ago (1996), yet a long long time ago and certainly pre-pandemic, Rick Jenkins opened The Comedy Studio in the attic of a Chinese restaurant. Through ups and downs, through different Camberville locations – the intersection of old skool artistry and progressive viewpoints/performance – the Studio has found a long term home in Harvard Square.
The Comedy Studio remains Boston’s most unique stage for comedians and other artistic performers in an intimate and inclusive environment for theatrical lovers and performers. Winner of the “Best of Boston, Best Comedy Club” for three consecutive years by Boston Magazine.
Now under new management, a key goal of the Studio is to be “where entertainers come home” when in Boston. This inevitably means being welcoming to one and all, an occasionally eclectic mix of attitudes and a space to experiment. Entering means accepting all of humanity with tolerance, even if not agreement, yet always with a smile in your heart.
The Comedy Studio features an array of emerging and world-renowned comedic and artistic talent. But don’t take our word for it. Frank Smiley, senior producer of Conan said of The Comedy Studio, “I consider it the greatest comedy club on earth.” We agree. And we want more…we will push beyond our core of stand-up, we welcome new forms which will entertain.
Our typical line ups and schedules vary but are based around the following acts and performances:
Monday – Music & Spoken Word
Tuesday – Open Mic
Wednesday – Headliner “An hour with…”
Thursday – 3-5 people, featuring a longer set
Friday & Saturday – Showcase with 5-6 people and regular drop-in special guests

He’s performed at the Rogue Island Comedy Festival, High Mud Comedy Festival, Boston Comedy Festival and the Whale City Comedy Festival. He’s been viewed over 10 million times on TikTok.
Performing all over the country, Matt Lopes is a stand up comedian based out of South CT and the House Comic at the Stress Factory Comedy Club in Bridgeport. He is the Cohost of the You Should Be Worried Podcast and has performed with a number of venues and companies such as Don’t Tell Comedy, New York Comedy Club, Helium Comedy Club, The Stand NYC, etc. He currently tours around the Country opening for Comedian Corey B. When Matt is not onstage he’s writing and creating hilarious content all over the internet, with a combined 650k thousand followers and 100 million views across tiktok and instagram.

Monday’s Pages is a weekly cold-reading series where actors and writers get together to present 10 page submissions of new, dialogue-driven material. Our primary purpose is to build community and encouragement through a non-judgemental, professional environment.
Our nights consist of 5 writers and as many actors as we need to fill the parts. Within that 75 minutes, we never critique, correct or charge anything. We are simply there to hold the space for great work and collaboration.

Co-host Jackson Watts is a rising comic in the Boston area. Using a mixture of fast paced, irreverent one liners and an absurd character presence, Jackson creates a performance to remember. In his free time, Jackson is a student at BU and a beekeeper.

HERE’S THE GIST
While everyone can come watch "It's A Date", contestants can apply through a separate form and go through two rounds of interviews prior to being on stage.
The IAD crew - all professional comedians - will offer hilarious comments and help the singles (and the audience) break the ice throughout the show.
The audience will be encouraged to chime in at any time they want- whether to voice an opinion, share a story, ask a question or even decide the outcome of the evening. As we like to say, it’s controlled chaos and no two shows are ever the same!
Halloween Specific:
Costumes are strongly encouraged. 6 people with the best costumes will be chosen to win a unique prizes!
